Share
Humanity Over Hype
In a world where machines are learning melodies and mimicking voices, EarthGang keeps pushing, "First, be more human." From their trilogy of releases—RIP Human Art, Robophobia, and Perfect Fantasy—to their real-world activism, Atlanta’s EarthGang remains committed to creativity over code.
Who Are EarthGang?
Olu (Johnny Venus) and Doctur Dot formed EarthGang in Atlanta in 2008, later joining J. Cole’s Dreamville. Known for their blend of Southern hip-hop, funk, jazz, and soul, they’ve earned comparisons to OutKast for their boundary-pushing sound.

Robophobia (2024): Embracing the Dystopia with Funk
With Robophobia, EarthGang doubled down. The EP includes AI-generated visuals and fun afrofuturist marketing—like a hotline named “Robecky” fans could call for virtual companionship. Tracks like “BLACKLIGHT” fuse P-Funk samples with human nuance, while “PUT IN WORK” blends frenetic energy with rhythmic grit.

Perfect Fantasy (2024): A Techno-Y2K Dreamland
The trilogy culminates in Perfect Fantasy, a full-length album set in “Tokyolanta”—a Y2K-inspired, technicolor utopia where tech brings freedom, not control. Featuring Pharrell, Snoop Dogg, T-Pain, and more, the album reasserts human art’s value while imagining tech as a spell, not a sentence.
