Consequence vs. Kid Cudi: Allegations, Cease & Desists, and Old Grudges

The tension between Consequence and Kid Cudi is heating up once again, with new allegations, social media shots, and even legal threats putting their long-running feud back in the spotlight.

Allegations About a Scrapped Ye & Drake Collab

In September 2025, a resurfaced clip from the documentary In Whose Name? stirred up speculation online. The clip shows Ye (formerly Kanye West) spitting a verse for Drake back in 2018 — leading fans to wonder if a full-on joint album between the two rap giants was ever in the works.

Consequence wasted no time jumping into the conversation, claiming that the project never materialized because of Kid Cudi.

In a since-deleted Instagram post, he wrote:

“Is because a Kid… Needed to see Ghosts smh 👻👀”

— a not-so-subtle jab at Kids See Ghosts, Ye and Cudi’s collaborative 2018 album.

Kid Cudi fired back immediately, denying any involvement in Ye and Drake’s missed album moment. In a social media video, he said:

“I had nothing to do with Kanye not doing that collab album with Drake.”

Cudi also hit Consequence with a cease and desist, demanding a retraction — though so far, Consequence hasn’t backed down.

Allegations About Ye’s Mental Health

Consequence didn’t stop there. In the same IG post, he alleged that Cudi was responsible for Ye’s downward spiral around 2016–2018, claiming that Cudi pushed Ye toward pills, public rants, and eventually a psychiatric hospitalization.

Cudi shut this down quickly too:

“I damn sure had nothing to do with him being hospitalized and going to the psych ward.”

Consequence on the Diddy Trial

Things got even messier when Kid Cudi’s name appeared in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ federal trial this summer.

Cudi testified under subpoena in August 2025, confirming that he believed Diddy had his Porsche firebombed back in 2012 — allegedly retaliation for Cudi dating Cassie, who was Diddy’s ex at the time.

Consequence didn’t like that either, blasting Cudi on X with:

“Testified against Puff for NOTHING.”

He even slipped the beef into music, dropping the bar:

“We about to blow like Kid Cudi’s car…”

in his new track Punching at the Air.

The History Between Consequence & Cudi

This isn’t the first time these two have butted heads. Their tension goes back to the GOOD Music days in the late 2000s.

In 2009, Consequence even filmed a video ranting about Cudi snubbing him at a party. Things cooled off eventually, and for a while the two maintained a civil relationship. But with these latest rounds of allegations and disses, it’s clear the truce is long gone.

Kid Cudi’s Response

Through it all, Cudi’s message has stayed consistent: he’s not taking blame for Ye and Drake’s failed album, Ye’s mental health struggles, or for speaking truthfully in Diddy’s trial.

Cudi summed it up bluntly:

“People need to stop with this narrative. I’m not responsible for Ye’s choices, and I’m not backing down for telling the truth about what happened to me.”
